Welford-on-Avon is a typical English village - nestled on the banks of the River Avon, it has a village green complete with maypole!

The River Avon offers river cruises, rowing, motorboat rides and fishing, whilst the popular tourist attraction of Stratford-upon-Avon has many visitor attractions, including Shakespeare's birthplace and the RSC Theatre.

This lovely Warwickshire pet-friendly cottage has two nicely furnished bedrooms, a cosy sitting room with an open fire and lawned, enclosed gardens to both the front and the rear, perfect for letting your dog out in safety. There's a shop and a pub within a few minutes' walk.

Warwick Castle is only a short drive away and it has a programme of year-round events, including concerts in the grounds and falconry displays. The beauty of the Cotswolds is also close by - Moreton-in-Marsh and Stow-on-the-Wold are pretty places to visit with pubs, shops and restaurants to try.

dog friendly cottage in cotswoldsWe just love this charming dog friendly cottage close to the Cotswolds. The Byre is a pretty, single-storey detached cottage for two, just 1 and ½ miles from Upton upon Severn.

The village has some gorgeous 17th century buildings, such as the Heritage Centre which is topped by an 18th century cupola and known as 'The Pepperpot'.

Upton upon Severn hosts a number of annual music festivals that showcase the best of jazz, folk and blues. It also has a marina, a vineyeard and local fruit farm with a well stocked farm shop. The Malvern Hills are just a few miles away and there are over 100 miles of footpaths and bridleways to explore.

The Byre has a private patio area to the front and a shared lawned garden with a pond. Guests can use the shared indoor swimming pool and Jacuzzi and there's a shop and pub within a couple of miles of the cottage.

Malvern is the setting for the Great Malvern Food Festival and the Three Counties Show each year - and the Malvern Theatre plays host to productions from the West End and the RSC. Slightly further afield, the Royal Forest of Dean, Gloucester and the Cotswolds are perfect for day trips.

pet friendly peak district cottageWe love this fabulous, cosy dog friendly cottage in the Peak District known as Mill Wheel Cottage.

Mill Wheel Cottage is a gorgeously cosy cottage on the edge of Hartshorne in south Derbyshire.

Just a stone's throw from an AA-rated pub with a 250 year old working mill wheel, this lovely cottage is perfect for a couple and one well behaved dog.

Hartshorne is close to the beautiful Derbyshire Dales and surrounded by picturesque towns and villages. The cathedral city of Lichfield is only three miles away and it's also well situated for day trips to Twycross Zoo, Drayton Manor and Alton Towers.

The cottage has a small enclosed courtyard with views across the countryside, one double bedroom and an open plan living area with a wood burning stove. There's a shop within a five minute walk and plenty of Derbyshire countryside to explore right from your doorstep.

Sleeping 4, this conversion can be booked with two other properties to sleep up to 10.

And it's dog friendly too, so no need to leave anyone behind.

This converted orangery is an ideal, dog-friendly holiday home for four people. It offers ground floor accommodation and is just a couple of miles from the nearest pub and shop. Upton upon Severn is a lively little country town with a variety of shops, inns and restaurants.

As well as the annual jazz, blues and folk festivals in the town, 'The Pudding Shop' is well worth a visit and Upton also has a lively marina, vineyard and medieval church, which is now the Heritage Centre. The Malvern Hills form nine miles of ancient rock with 100 miles of footpaths.

The Orangery has one double and one twin bedroom, an open plan living area with kitchen and dining area and the sitting area has a cosy wood burning stove. There's a shared games room with pool table, and a shared indoor swimming pool with Jacuzzi.

The Great Malvern Food Festival is held every year at the Three Counties Show Ground and there is a multitude of National Trust properties to visit in the area, as well as outdoor activities to suit all ages and abilities. The beautiful Cotswolds are within easy travelling distance.

Beech Hill Manor is a fabulous dog-friendly holiday home in Aislaby, a small rural village, just three miles from Whitby. This superb country house has five bedrooms and sleeps 17 people. It has an impressive galleried landing, a large dining room and gorgeous views across the seven acre grounds.

Whitby is a charming town with heaps of atmosphere, winding streets and lovely, sandy beaches. The beautiful Yorkshire coastline is dotted with small fishing villages. Robin Hood’s Bay, Scarborough and the stunning North York Moors are all within easy reach.

We love the bedrooms at Beech Hill – the master has a seven foot super king size bed and a marble en-suite shower with sunken Jacuzzi bath! Brandsby is well situated for the North York Moors and the towns of Scarborough, Bridlington and Whitby. There are plenty of stately homes, historic abbeys and imposing castles to visit as well as numerous villages and market towns with a good choice of shops, pubs and restaurants.

The Bull Hull is a unique and charming ground floor cottage for two, at the heart of the gorgeous Lune Valley countryside sitting midway between the Yorkshire Dales and the Lake District.

There is a shop and pub within three miles and the pretty village of Hutton Roof has beautiful views over the Lakeland Fells and Morecambe Bay. Kirkby Lonsdale is very close and a popular destination for visitors with its interesting architecture, street markets and excellent shops, restaurants and cafés.

The cottage has beautiful views across to Hutton Roof Crags Nature Reserve and while you have your own private patio area with barbecue, you’ll also have access to the owners’ extensive gardens. There is a double bedroom, fitted kitchen and open plan living, dining and sitting area.

If you’re thinking of a cosy cottage holiday this Christmas, there’s no need to leave anyone out.  The whole family including your pet can enjoy Christmas this year in a charming cottage – that will really create Christmas memories with a difference.

the loft in walesWe love this barn conversion called The Loft in Wales. 

If you want to get away from it all and enjoy the outdoors then it's the perfect getaway.  With a lovely rural setting and really charming interior, the cottage combines rustic with luxury. 

The exposed wooden beams are one of the best features alongside the solid oak floors and doors and woodburner. 

Look out the window and you will feel surrounded by open farmland and you can even enjoy views of the Clwydian Hill Range.  Loggerheads Country Park and the stunning Snowdonia National Park are also within easy reach. 

We're thinking long scenic walks and cycle rides and then back to the cottage to enjoy the luxurious base for your holiday. The actual location is in the small village of loft pet friendly in walesLlanfair-Dyffryn-Clwyd which is around 3 miles from Ruthin.

One small dog is welcome but must be kept out of the bedroom.  So if you want to take your little 4 legged friend with you that's no problem.

We just had to share this little gem, a luxury 5 star rated holiday cottage in Anglesey that is pet friendly too!  This gorgeous property sits above the coastal hamlet of Church Bay and gives access to Anglesey Coastal Path, featuring 125 miles of coastline to explore - your dog will love you for this!  The interior has been decorated to a very high standard and offers high spec features with amazing 180-degree views over the bay towards Holyhead. 

There are five bedrooms in total meaning this cottage can sleep up to ten people.  If that's still not enough space you can rent the cottage next door which sleeps an additional 4.  Amenities include full gas central heating and mod cons including well equipped kitchen with dishwasher, flat screen gaming TV and wifi.  Outside the enclosed garden is the ideal space to relax and there is even a BBQ.

The location of this pet friendly luxury cottage is superb and one of the best things is that it's only 2 minutes walk from the pub!  Local attractions and family days out close by include the National Trust property Plas Newydd mansion, Anglesey Sea Zoo and the historic town of Beaumaris with its medieval castle(well worth a visit).  If you love seafood then the renowned Lobster Pot seafood restaurant is only a short walk down the road from these Church Bay cottages.  Pets are welcome at this luxury cottage.
