Pet Friendly Cottage Company

The Shack

Sleeps 5

This fantastic cottage provides detached holiday accommodation with spectacular countryside views.  We think this property is a real gem and it's just a mile Watergate Bay at Newquay one of the best sandy beaches in this area of Cornwall.  Both relaxing and welcoming, the cottage has a family friendly feel with private front garden where adults  can relax and children can play.  But that's not all - you will be just a five minute walk from a local sandy beach, the ideal place to spend summer days.

Other recommended days out in the local area include a visit to the renowned Eden Project just 14 miles away.  You also have all the attractions of Newquay such as the aquarium, zoo, Trenance Gardens and cosmopolitan shops, bars and cafes.

All of the accommodation is based on the ground floor.  This includes 3 bedrooms, bathroom, kitchen and living room.  From the kitchen there is a door to the garden.  Local shops and pubs are just a 5 minute walk away. One well behaved dog is welcome at this property and we think this is the perfect spot for long walks along the coast.  Much of the coastal area here is owned by the National Trust and you will find some breathtaking scenery and pretty coves to explore.

Pet Friendly Days Out in Cornwall
Trelissick Garden
National Trust properties are dog friendly.  Trelissick Garden close to Truro allow dogs in the park and on woodland walks areas although they are not permitted in the gardens.  Even though dogs are not permitted in the formal gardens there is a brilliant dog walk stretching for many miles through the woodlands and around the perimeter of the estate.  The National Trust ask that you clean up after your dog and dispose of dog waste responsibly.
Cornwall Beaches
Cornwall has many beaches to explore as well as coastal walks so providing you check there are no bans enforced you should be able to enjoy some fun days at the beach with your four legged friend.  At the time of writing Bude Beach is a dog friendly beach throughout all seasons.  Bude is lucky enough to have a vast and sandy beach ideal for running off energy.  Contact the local tourist office before you set off to make sure this information is still valid.
Brocklands Adventure Park in Kirkhampton
This adventure park makes a fantastic day out for the whole family and well behaved dogs on leads are welcome.
Trebah Gardens
Trebah Garden has been described as a sub tropical paradise and it's easy to see why. Dogs are welcome both in the garden area and on the beach all year round but must be kept on a lead.  Although they are not permitted in the Planters Cafe they are welcome on the cafe garden terrace and also in the picnic area.  You can even ask for a water bowl outside the visitor centre.  Four dog bins are located within the garden and poop scoops are given out to dog owners free of charge upon entry into the gardens.
Restormel Castle
This English Heritage property makes a great day out and dogs on leads are welcome.  The magnificent 13th century castle allows you to see the main rooms inside which are in great condition considering their age.  This area is also perfect for picnics as the surrounding views are amazing.
