Situated just six miles from Kirby Lonsdale, Etland House is perfect for large family gatherings or groups of friends and is one of the finest cottages we have come across in Cumbria.

The outstanding six bedroom barn conversion has been beautifully done to offer a very high standard of accommodation. Inside the property has a good mix of original charm and modern conveniences and is perfect for self catering.

The kitchen is modern and has a large dining area, dishwasher and microwave, making catering for a large family a breeze. The spacious living room is situated on the first floor and offers far reaching countryside views. There are six bedrooms including three ensuite, king-size doubles and two twin. The rear stone paved terrace is the perfect place to enjoy a BBQ on a warm summer evening.

For walking and cycling the Lakeland Mountains and the Howgills are easily accessible as is the beautiful Morecambe Bay. Other local attractions include Sizergh Castle and Levens Hall. Reviews of Etland House are excellent with guests commenting on the friendly owners, the beautiful house and the great location. Two well behaved pets are welcome.

Pet Friendly Days Out in Cumbria
Brantwood was the home of John Ruskin, a Victorian writer, artist and visionary and is a great place for a day trip in Cumbria. The site is beautifully situated and affords breathtaking lake and mounting views. There are gardens to walk round and dogs on leads are very welcome. The site is also home to the Jumping Jenny restaurant which serves fresh local food in a relaxed environment.
Mirehouse and Gardens
Mirehouse and Gardens is situated just outside of the popular tourist spot of Keswick and is a beautiful family run historic house in a stunning countryside setting. Visitors can enjoy live piano music and a fun children's quiz in the house and can also stroll around the woodland grounds, where there are playareas for children, lakeside and poetry walks and a fantastic tea room specialising in Cumbrian food. Dogs are welcome but restrictions may apply.
High Head Sculpture Valley
High Head Sculpture Valley in Cumbria is situated in the charming village of Carlisle and is a good choice for a dog friendly day trip. The family friendly contemporary art gallery is set on a working dairy farm with 5 acres of outdoor sculpture park and 70 acres of farm walks to enjoy. There is also a tea room and visitors looking to be pampered can head to the luxury health suite with hydrotherapy spa bath and sauna. Dogs on leads are welcome in the grounds.
Holker Hall
Holker Hall is one of the regions most popular attractions and is situated near Cartmel in the south of Cumbria. The family friendly site has beautiful gardens featuring rare flora and fauna, formal areas and plenty of open space for children to run around. There is also an excellent tearoom but visitors are welcome to bring a picnic too. Dogs are welcome in the gardens but must be kept under close control.
