Large groups looking for luxurious cottage accommodation in The Lake District will be thrilled with the space and facilities on offer at Ghyll Bank House. This impressive manor house sleeps 16 in total making it an excellent choice for large family gatherings.

The house is situated on the outskirts of Staveley village, just 5 miles from Windermere and affords breathtaking views from most rooms. As well as a large, welcoming dining kitchen, the cottage has two spacious sitting rooms (one with open fire, one with woodburner) and seven bedrooms offering a combination of double and twin rooms. The extensive gardens offer plenty of space for children to play and the views are spectacular. Staveley village has a pub, post office, shop and children's playground and further attractions can be found in Morecambe Bay.

Reviews of Ghyll Bank House are excellent with one reviewer commenting "We loved the house, the atmosphere and the location of the house!"  One well behaved pet is welcome at a small charge of £15 per week.

Pet Friendly Days Out in Lake District
Muncaster Castle
Muncaster Castle is situated in the very beautiful western Lake District and is highly recommended for a dog friendly day out. The gardens around the castle are spectacular and your dog will really enjoy walking around them. The site is also home to The World Owl Centre which is especially popular with families. If you are staying for the whole day you can enjoy lunch in Creeping Kate's Tea Room or bring along a picnic. Dogs must be kept on leads.
Grizedale Forest
Situated near the popular area of Hawkshead and is the perfect spot for those with energetic dogs to walk! There are trails to suit walkers of all abilities and spectacular scenery is all around. Children may also enjoy spotting the sculptures dotted along the way. This is an area teeming with wildlife so is also a good choice for nature lovers.
Mirehouse and Gardens
Near the popular holiday spot of Keswick is one of our favourite dog friendly days out. The site offers something for everyone in the family and the impressive historic site has a stunning setting. You will find plenty of dog friendly areas within the grounds as well as several woodland walks, playgrounds and a tea room serving tasty local food. Dogs are required to be on leads in some areas.
Brockhole Visitor Centre
Offers interactive exhibitions, an adventure playground for children, a shop where you can pick up a souvenir and lovely gardens which your dog will just love exploring. Dogs on leads are very welcome but owners are asked to ensure that they clear up after their pets.
