Wharf Cottage is a beautiful detached property in the peaceful village of Burton-in-Kendal, just 7 miles from Kirkby Lonsdale. This location is perfect for those looking to enjoy the stunning Lake District National Park as well as the surrounding market towns and villages.

The cottage which sleeps 6 in total is very comfortable and has been well modernised yet retains some of its original charm and character. The sitting room has a delightful beamed ceiling, woodburning stove and breathtaking views of the gorgeous Lakeland Fells beyond. There is also a well-equipped kitchen with dining area, and three good sized bedrooms. One of the best features is the enclosed canalside patio with furniture - the perfect place for a relaxing drink!

The canal towpath is popular for walking and runs right past the property while the resort of Morecambe Bay offers more attractions.  Well behaved dogs aged 2 yrs and over are welcome.

Pet Friendly Days Out in Lake District
Muncaster Castle
Muncaster Castle is situated in the very beautiful western Lake District and is highly recommended for a dog friendly day out. The gardens around the castle are spectacular and your dog will really enjoy walking around them. The site is also home to The World Owl Centre which is especially popular with families. If you are staying for the whole day you can enjoy lunch in Creeping Kate's Tea Room or bring along a picnic. Dogs must be kept on leads.
Grizedale Forest
Situated near the popular area of Hawkshead and is the perfect spot for those with energetic dogs to walk! There are trails to suit walkers of all abilities and spectacular scenery is all around. Children may also enjoy spotting the sculptures dotted along the way. This is an area teeming with wildlife so is also a good choice for nature lovers.
Mirehouse and Gardens
Near the popular holiday spot of Keswick is one of our favourite dog friendly days out. The site offers something for everyone in the family and the impressive historic site has a stunning setting. You will find plenty of dog friendly areas within the grounds as well as several woodland walks, playgrounds and a tea room serving tasty local food. Dogs are required to be on leads in some areas.
Brockhole Visitor Centre
Offers interactive exhibitions, an adventure playground for children, a shop where you can pick up a souvenir and lovely gardens which your dog will just love exploring. Dogs on leads are very welcome but owners are asked to ensure that they clear up after their pets.
