Norfolk Pet Friendly Cottages

norfolk pet friendly cottagesNorfolk has much to offer when it comes to pet friendly cottage holidays as the region is rich in unspoilt coastline, stunning nature reserves and many quaint villages.  Nature lovers will find this area fascinating with fantastic wildlife and of course the Norfolk Broads right on the doorstep.

If you prefer entertainment and shopping then Norfolk will not disappoint with large cities including Norwich on offer with a cosmopolitan cafe culture.  It's a real mix of opposites - the bright lights of cities or the peaceful waterways and coast.  The choice is yours!

We have a choice of cottages which allow cats and dogs in various Norfolk locations.  So you can choose whether you prefer to be close to towns or beaches.

One of our favourite cottages for couples is The Hayloft, a lovely first floor barn conversion with original features and a charming feel.  The views are also stunning.  We also like The Haybarn which offers a hay barn conversion accommodation for up to 4 adults.  The location in the rural hamlet of West End is very peaceful and the cottage itself offers open plan living with private garden.  You will even find a stream and a pond in the back garden!

If you would like to be within walking distance of a village shop and pub then we love The Pippins, situated just a couple of minutes walk from local amenities. This single storey cottage offers a cosy base to explore the area, and sleeps up to 5.

Pets love open space to exercise and this makes Willow Sunrise an ideal choice with a lovely back garden.  This detached cottage sleeps 6 and is just 6 miles from Kings Lynn. Two well behaved dogs are welcome.  The location in Pott Row is ideal on the perimeter of the scenic Norfolk Wildlife Trust's Roydon Common Nature Reserve.  This enviable area contains nearly 500 acres of heathland, fen, grassland and woodland and of course, provides outstanding walking opportunities.

Pet Friendly Days Out in Norfolk
Norfolk Sheringham Park
This beautiful National Trust site has over 80 different species of rhododendrons on display and is a "must visit" place for keen gardeners. The grounds are stunning all year round but are at their best in May and June when the flowers are in full bloom. As you wander around the impressive site you can enjoy coastal views, wild garden areas and a lovely gazebo. There is also an exhibition barn and wildlife trails are on offer for children during school holidays. Dogs can be let off leads but must be kept under close control. Most dog owners agree that there are few things more enjoyable for their pets than a brisk walk along a sandy beach and a splash or swim in the sea. So if you are taking you dog on holiday, it makes sense to pick a location with a good pet friendly beach.
Brancaster Beach
Perfect for pets as it has dedicated areas for those with dogs. Dogs must be kept under close control but do not have to be on leads. The long stretch of sandy beach is close to several other attractions including Brancaster Millennium Activity Centre where you can also enjoy organised cycle rides, crafting sessions for children and activity days.
Felbrigg Hall
A very impressive estate, home to a grand house, stunning gardens, a huge lake and miles of walking trails. A cycle path also runs through the site. You can take a tour of the house itself and see the kitchen, the perfectly laid out dining room and the magnificent library, or simply choose to spend the day enjoying the grounds. Visitors are welcome to bring a picnic and this is an excellent idea if you have a dog. Other dining options include the brassiere which serves fresh local produce or the traditional tea room. There is also a gift shop. Dogs can be let off leads in the woodland but must be kept under close control. Dogs must be on leads while in the parkland.
Horsey Windpump National Trust site
Located in the Great Yarmouth area of Norfolk, this is a popular attraction and ideal if you are looking to enjoy a day out with your dog. The windpump was built in 1948 and affords very beautiful views over Horsey Mere. The Horsey Estate even without the pump is impressive and well worth a visit. You can walk from the Broads to the beach with your dog and enjoy stunning scenery along the way. Boat trips (not National Trust) across Horsey Mere are also available during holiday periods. Dogs welcome, on leads in some areas.
