Longstone Cottage

Whitby
Sleeps 6

Ideal for families, Longstone Cottage has a wonderful location just 1 mile from the village of Ugthorpe, near Whitby. The spacious, semi-detached stone barn conversion has a lovely rural setting on a livestock and arable working farm and has been beautifully renovated while still retaining some original features.

Inside the pitched ceiling, original heavy beams and wooden floors give a cosy feel, yet the living space is open plan and spacious. There are two bedrooms and a sofa bed in the living room which also affords panoramic countryside views. We love the large lawned garden area where guests can relax on an evening and enjoy a barbecue.

The region has many attractions including a renowned beach at Sandsend, just 3 miles away and the busting resort of Scarborough just a little further. Two well behaved dogs are welcome.

Pet Friendly Days Out in Whitby
The Moors National Park Centre
The Moors National Park Centre lies at the very heart of the beautiful North York Moors. near Whitby and is the perfect place for a day out with your family. Dogs are welcome but must be kept under close control and owners are asked to ensure that they clean up after their pets.  The stunning site has miles of trails, paths and walks to explore and on a summer day we recommend bringing along a picnic.
Beaches
Beaches are ideal for dog walking and most dogs like nothing more than a splash in the sea. Dogs are welcome on all Whitby beaches from September to May but are not permitted on the main West beach during high season when many families with young children flock to the area. There are however some areas where dogs can be walked all year round.
Falling Foss Waterfall and Tea Garden
An excellent choice for a dog friendly day trip in Whitby. The fabulous gardens feature cascading waterfalls, rare flora and fauna and as the name suggest are also home to a famous tea room serving up amazing snacks and cakes. You can enjoy your tea in beautifully tranquil surrounding with apple trees and pretty flowers all around. Pets welcome in the garden.
