This detached, two-bedroomed stone cottage is on a working farm just two miles from Barnard Castle. It is in the heart of the Yorkshire Dales and the area is full of scenic walks and delightful nature trails. Two well behaved pets are welcome.
We love the tiny village of Boldron – just a cluster of stone houses and farms and a local pub that you can walk to across the fields in minutes. Barnard Castle still has the medieval castle ruins and there are impressive stately homes and a wealth of museums in the area.
Black Barn is full of character and has some traditional features, including a stone fireplace and log burning stove in the lounge. It has gorgeous countryside views on all sides, a separate study, bathroom and wet room as well as two beautifully furnished bedrooms.
This is true walking country with the Pennine and Teesdale Ways, the River Tees and the amazing High Force waterfall at Raby Castle all on your doorstep. You are also close to Hadrian’s Wall, the most popular tourist attraction in the North of England and a Unesco World Heritage Site.
